Easy Peach Dumplings

When it comes to dumplings, our general opinion is that you can’t go wrong. Carbs? Yes please. Carbs with a delicious treat tucked inside? Even better. These easy peach dumplings fall into the later category and we promise you’ll be hooked with the first bite!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) peaches, drained
  • 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups Sprite or citrus soda
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and generously grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Place one or two peach slices (depending on size) at the wide end of each dough triangle. Sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon and then roll the dough around the peach slices.
  4. Once the dough is securely wrapped around the peaches, transfer the dumplings to the prepared baking dish. Repeat with the remaining dough and peaches.
  5. In a large bowl, melt the two sticks of butter, and then stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the remaining cinnamon until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Using a large spoon, evenly pour the butter mixture over the dumplings.
  7. Carefully pour the Sprite around the edges of the dough, avoiding the tops to ensure a crispy crust for the dumplings.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the dough is just beginning to brown on top.
  9. Serve the peach dumplings warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.
