  • 2 cups of creamy mashed potatoes
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying


  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F (93 degrees C).
  2. In a sizable bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, beaten egg, flour, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Thoroughly mix the ingredients until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small, 2-inch diameter patties.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the potato cakes in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, achieving a golden brown and cooked-through texture.
  7. Drain the potato cakes on paper towels.
  8. Serve immediately or transfer them to a baking sheet and crisp them up in the oven for 10 minutes.
