Air Fryer Bread Pudding

Air Fryer Bread Pudding

Air Fryer Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of bread cubes (any bread of your choice; stale bread is ideal)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Bread Cubes: Cut the bread into cubes and set aside. If using fresh bread, allow the cubes to air dry for a few hours or lightly toast them.
  2. Prepare Custard Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until thoroughly combined. Add raisins or nuts if desired.
  3. Combine Bread and Custard: Gently fold the bread cubes into the custard mixture until all cubes are coated. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the custard.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for a few minutes.
  5. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish that fits into the air fryer basket. Transfer the bread and custard mixture into the baking dish.
  6. Air Frying: Place the baking dish into the air fryer basket. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, checking at the 15-minute mark for doneness. The pudding should be set and slightly golden on top.
  7. Check for Doneness: Insert a toothpick or knife into the center of the bread pudding. If it comes out clean, the pudding is ready.
  8. Serve: Once done, remove the bread pudding from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, either on its own or with whipped cream or caramel sauce.
